Luisa Resendiz, MS
Luisa is certified in the State of Georgia in Education and Leadership. She has 16 years of experience in the field of Education and Administration. Luisa is a nationally Certified Olweus Bullying Prevention Trainer, she is a Certified Parent Educator and Trainer for the researched based Active Parenting Programs. Her goal is to enhance parentingskills, through her workshops, for the parents within the different communities.
J. Maxwell Jacques, MA, CPI
J. Maxwell serves as Founder/Executive Director for NM Family Education Center, a local non-profit committed to the empowerment and strengthening of families through Education. Mr. Jacques is a Certified Family Life Educator, Certified Parenting Instructor and Certified Trainer of Trainers for Active Parenting Publishers’ Active Parenting Now, Active Christian Parenting, Active Parenting of Teens and Cooperative Parenting & Divorce Programs. He has over 10 years of experience in the Behavioral Health and Social Services fields in both Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.

These full day workshops are designed to give professionals and others working with families, research-based, tested and proven methods to help parents and families in crisis.
Cooperative Parenting & Divorce
This workshop trains leaders on how to teach techniques the help parents shield their children from parental conflict and guide them through the process of recovery. The program addresses the relationship between separate households created as a result of divorce. It is designed to improve the quality of the parental relationship in situations of joint custody, separate maintenance, change of custody and paternity.
Working with Children of Divorce
This evidenced –based video-based program is designed for professionals working with children of Divorced and Separated parents. Divorces are not all the same, nor are children’s reaction to divorce the same. The program teaches strategies that will help these children learn tools and approaches to dealing with their own reaction to the change in the family structure. The Leaders Guide gives step-by-step instructions on when to show video and when to stop for discussion and practices.
Parents in Recovery
The Parents in Recovery module was designed to address the needs and concerns of parents in substance abuse treatment programs. The program provides materials and instructions for leading a workshop that focuses on concepts important for parenting effectiveness such as communication skills, guidance techniques, and positive discipline strategies. The emphasis is on building skills, providing support, and helping parents understand the needs and abilities of children during different stages of development.
Gransparents as Parents
As we experience a growing number of Grandparents raising their children’s children in our state, it is essential that we have a healthy and supportive conversation around this issue. This program is designed to help grandparents define their roles, address issues of discipline, building healthy relationships, setting boundaries, positive discipline and the role of the biological parent as well as legal elements.
Active Parenting Now/Active Parenting of Teens
This information packed workshop will equip leaders to work with Parents of Children from the ages of 5 years old to 12 years old and Parents with Teenagers(13 -18). Many leaders have used the Active Parenting Now and Active Parenting of Teens programs with special populations – Parents of Deaf Children, Parents who’s Children have ADHD, Parents who have been ordered by the Court to take Parent Education, Parents in Correctional Institutions and many others.
Padres Activos de Hoy
This video-based discussion group is conducted in Spanish. The program teaches leaders strategies that will help Spanish Speaking Parents learn to encourage cooperation, courage and responsibility in their children. The leaders guide gives step-by-step instructions on when to show video and when to stop for discussion and practices.
Parents on Board
Parental involvement is critical to every child's school career. This program is designed to help parents support their child's(ren) academic goals by creating a school-smart home, encouraging positive behavior, establishing a working relationship with the school and coaching children in reading, writing, spelling, math and science (without being an expert).
